The French footwear label Salomon joined forces with Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) to reinvent the Shelter CSWP, combining Carhartt WIP’s signature aesthetic with Salomon’s technical know-how and performance qualities.
With a full waterproof inner bootie and light insulation, the sneaker-boot is designed to keep you protected from wet and cold weather conditions. Seamlessly integrated into the design, the welded construction makes the shoe lighter, while the chassis brings increased stability. In addition, the rubber outsole provides great grip with a patterned area on the heel that grabs the ground, giving you more control.
Carhartt WIP’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection, specifically its Venture capsule, was a source of inspiration to reimagine Salomon’s Shelter CSWP. The “Black/Phantom/Castor Gray” colorway mirrors the palette of garments found in Venture, with a tonal interplay of greens, greys, and blacks. Besides, the shoe’s pared-back branding highlights the silhouette’s design. Printed footbeds featuring a reworking of a traditional Indonesian vine camouflage come along each pair.
The Carhartt WIP x Salomon Shelter CSWP collaboration will be available on Specimn’s e-shop and physical store in Toulouse on February 10, 2022.
