The story started in California in the 1970s, with a new generation of free-spirited climbers called the Stonemasters settling in Yosemite National Park and introducing a new style of rock climbing, which we now know as modern big wall climbing. These new methods required a new uniform, so Mike Graham, a Stonemaster, designed the first truly flexible pair of climbing shorts.
In 1982, Gramicci was born, named after Graham’s nickname within the Stonemasters. From the beginning, the brand has been creating functional clothing for the outdoors. Now based in Tokyo, Gramicci produces a broader collection of durable, technical designs that embrace the brand’s spirit of finding freedom through movement.
